Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
