Former Physician Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault â some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen â spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, âLegal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.â
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a âcomplex investigationâ into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
