Netflix Chooses Ideal Star for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The platform declared this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that character re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to reality, such as leader the main antagonist, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Though the role is a key figure of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this signals a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
