Recent details have emerged about the untimely passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report quoting a person close to the family, a therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the residence. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

Upon entering the house, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now in custody without bail.

The anonymous source challenged several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Additionally refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to descriptions of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
