The President Invites Relatives of Shot Military Members to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president told journalists. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Support

Attendees gathered over the past few days at the high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to assist policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the media. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Measures and Policy Revisions

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy prompted the government to suspend asylum applications and cease issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey said on television.

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the military.
